The direct market had three covers, while the other two were for newsstands and bookstores and were released on March 20.[1] Bongo Comics held a contest where the first person to e-mail Bongo a photo of themselves holding all five Ralph Wiggum Comics #1 covers would be “Simpsonized” in a future issue of a Simpsons or Bart Simpson comic of their choice. The winner of the contest was Sam Young,[2] and he appeared as a Simpsons character in Simpsons Comics #197.[3] The quotes on the covers are:
