Afternoon Yak is a women's-interest talk show which is aired in Springfield. It is produced by The Estrogen Network. Homer and Marge briefly watched one episode, and later appeared on the show as guests.

History

Afternoon Yak features an all-women group of panelists and a live studio audience (also all-female, or nearly so). In the episode that Homer and Marge watched on TV, one of the panelists, in a disdainful tone of voice, said "Men!" which elicited a loud chorus of "Booooooo!" from the studio audience. At this, Homer dismissively said "Cancel" and quickly changed the channel.

After Homer broke his jaw and had it wired shut for a time, he and Marge were guests on Afternoon Yak and told about how the experience made him a better listener. Their appearance went quite well, even though a couple of the panelists made off-color jokes out of virtually everything that Homer and Marge said. They were followed by Luann Van Houten and Milhouse, in a segment titled "My Son Still Wets the Bed!" As Luann led Milhouse onto the set, Milhouse complained that she had told him that they were going to Red Lobster.

Afternoon Yak was one of the programs that Marge could watch when she used the TiVo.
